Between cat care, Christmas errands, ended up with 75 minutes to paint, but HAD to try. The square was challenging to find cohesive focal points amongst so many cars and such. I did like the line with decorated Colorado Spruce and orange trees….here’s what I did alla prima….at home I wiped off the middle orange tree and brightened some ornaments….will update with finished piece.

I painted what I’ve been biking by for a long time, thinking I ought to try, and realize I must go ahead and just DO it, the neighborhood I’ve lived in almost 18 years. The feral cat areas are next! SO I got to talk to the owner, Ray, and he said he believes the Quan-sit (?) Hut was brought from Mare Island via a Plymouth in 1943, by one Dave Silva, (hm mm a Portuguese cousin who changed to more americanized name from Silveira)?!

I SO wanted to live out there, day after day, no time, kittens to foster. (Maybe I’ll bring them in cage & paint anyway, next time)!?

Not sure I’m liking my forward tree greens enough, and I think I need to darken value of Hwy 12….(the road).

….but painters with me said to keep going, alas, I think I would like a group of exciting, block-in’s….(I now see I still have an edge problem along top of where red vineyards meet greens n’ base of tree line, as well as medium shining & distorting photo)….

Sadly, property owner became crazed that we were 2′ in from road easement, we’d gone to nearby housing with no disnerable front door, & knocked on a side patio door, could not find anyone, thought as long as we didn’t walk over ranch road nor into vineyards we’d try. 2 hrs later, she almost ran one of us down, claimed no one respects her signs, everyone thinks it doesn’t apply to them, how would we like it if someone walked on our property, etc. SO, this is why I usually prefer regional park land, or prior permission. She said IF we’d called her, but how does one get a name and number, get a real estate license?

ANYWAY, though always respectful and picking up litter and such, a reminder to all.

ArtistMentorOnline, Kevin MacPherson and Linda Fissler, best $7/month in exercises, articles, marketing and more, November’s is paint only with a 12 or larger, and IF you often use 12, use bigger, so I used only #20. I need better, bigger brushes that hold a tight edge, alas, I longed for permission to use a pallette knife….
